The Bield at Blackruthven

The Bield at Blackruthven is a centre for Christian spirituality, retreat and healing in the widest sense of the word. The focus is expressed in the name ‘Bield’ which is an old Scottish word. It carries such meanings as refuge, and shelter, or activities such as ‘to nurture’ and ‘to embolden’ and ‘to encourage’. Guests are welcome to come on their own, with partners, children, or in groups, for a day visit or longer. There is a programme of events. The Bield offers opportunities to visit at other times during the year. Experienced community members are available as desired to listen, counsel, guide and support you on your personal journey. While people of all faiths or of none are welcome, the vision of The Bield is centred in the person of Jesus Christ, and the well-being, nurture and healing to be found in him.

The Bield welcomes day and residential guests throughout the year – individuals as well as groups. As guests, if you don’t take part in a programmed event, you may plan your own time or ask for input and/or support from the ministry team.
