Ashwhin Balanced Living Centre & Personal Retreat Dunstaffnage Mains Farm Dunbeg by Oban Argyll PA37 1PZ, Scotland |

Mind - Body - Spirit, Healing Spirituality Ashwhin was opened by Derby Stewart-Amsden in 1999 as an holistic health centre for the residents of Argyll Scotland and visitors to the area. In 2005 Ashwhin opened the personal retreat part of the centre to meet the needs of people who want to take some time away from their hectic lives to regain their perspective, rest and relax, and to reconnect with themselves. Many people also come here for personal, creative and spiritual development to learn and to explore. One of the reasons Ashwhin with its old farm buildings build in the early 1700s appeals to people of all ages and backgrounds is because it is unusual in hosting only one or two people at a time. This provides a highly personal service with the whole idea being that you are completely in control of what you do. For example, Derby remarks that one of our guests simply needed to rest after a difficult and physically demanding house move. She chose to spent all week enjoying our library, with a cat on her lap for company. Aside from our initial chat about her needs and expectations for the retreat she only chose to have one massage session. A happy retreat guest indeed!
However, many of their guests, especially those people who come here for the first time, are extremely stretched and challenged by life and want a higher level of support and so choose to have both complementary therapies to relax , and also sessions of counseling, life coaching and learning new skills. People who return regularly often have clear goals for themselves and undertake Reiki attunements, shamanic work or continued coaching and counseling. Along with the peace of Ashwhin, there is an opportunity to get a taste of the local culture. Oban, just 3 miles away, is referred to as the Gateway to the Islands and the people are wlecoming . So there are opportunities to enjoy spectacular scenery, fabulous fresh seafood, and wildlife.
