The Bahá'í faith, dating from 1844, is the most recent of the world's monotheistic religions. The faith's founder, Bahá'u'lláh, an Iranian nobleman whose name translates as "the Glory of God", spent much of his life in exile. The Bahá'í faith is the second most widespread of the world's religions, with 5 million followers in 235 countries and territories throughout the world. There are around 6,000 Bahá'ís in the UK. The Bahá'í faith an independent world religion, and has its own scriptures, places of worship and administration. It is not a branch of Islam. Bahá'ís believe that humanity is a single race with a common destiny. In the words of Bahá'u'lláh, the faith's founder, "The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens."

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal began at a retreat for college students at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in February 1967. The students had spent much of the weekend in prayer, asking God to allow them to experience the grace of both baptism and confirmation. The students, that weekend, had a powerful and transforming experience of God, which came to be known as 'baptism in the Spirit'. The account of the weekend and the experience of the Spirit quickly spread across the college campus, then to other campuses throughout the country. The charismatic experience soon moved beyond colleges and began to have an impact on regular parishes and other Catholic institutions. Loose organisations and networks were formed. Catholic charismatic conferences began to be held, drawing over 30,000 at Notre Dame campus in South Bend Indiana in the mid 1970's. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is not a single, unified worldwide movement. It does not have a single founder or group of founders as many other movements do. It has no membership lists. It is a highly diverse collection of individuals, groups and activities – covenant communities, prayer groups, small faith sharing groups, renewed parishes, conferences, retreats, and even involvement in various apostolates and ministries – often quite independent of one another, in different stages and modes of development and with different emphases, that nevertheless share the same fundamental experience and espouse the same general goals. The common thread for the Movement is the 'baptism of the Holy Spirit'. For many people, this new, powerful, and life-transforming outpouring of the Holy Spirit takes place in the context of a specifically designed seminar called 'Life in the Spirit', although many have been 'baptised in the Spirit' outside of the seminar.
Goodnews online is the official website of the National Service Committee for the Charismatic Renewal in England. The CREW Trust (Catholic Renewal for England and Wales) has for its objectives the advancement of the Christian religion and the promotion of the spiritual renewal of the Roman Catholic Church.

The Evangelical Alliance was founded in 1846 and is the oldest alliance of evangelical Christians in the world. The Alliance is the largest body serving evangelical Christians in the UK, and has a membership including denominations, churches, organisations and individuals. In its formative years the Alliance particularly stood for the victims of religious persecution and enabled evangelicals from different denominations to work together. As part of a movement 'uniting to change society' the Alliance promotes unity and truth, acts as an evangelical voice to the state, society and the wider church, and works collaboratively with Alliance members and other evangelicals, to present Christ credibly as good news for spiritual and social transformation. The Alliance speaks on behalf of its members and represents evangelical concerns to Government, the National Assemblies, the media and key decision-makers. In resourcing its members and encouraging Christians to fully engage in their communities as responsible citizens, the Alliance strives to make evangelical truths publicly accessible.

Faith and Light offers the opportunity to learn with those who are often seen as needing care without anything to give. People with learning disabilities have important gifts to offer, which are to be encouraged and developed. In these times of efficiency, competence and productivity, people with learning disabilities are still all too often marginalized. It is our experience in Faith and Light that our friends with so-called learning disabilities have profound lessons to teach us. They may have 'special needs' but they also have 'special gifts' – not least love and compassion. There are numerous local groups across the Wales and the south of England.

The founder was an Anglican priest (died 1995) who commended a simple yet profound method of prayer based on the Holy Scriptures as the Word of God. The method was followed, first by a small number of clergy, then by others in increasing numbers who recognised the value of learning the discipline of listening to the Word of God which is 'spirit and life' (John 6.63).

The Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement is a UK-based international Charity which challenges homophobia and transphobia, especially within the Church and faith based organisations, as well as working to create and praying for an inclusive church. The organisation started in April 1976 as the Gay Christian Movement (GCM) and changed the name to recognise the contribution of the female membership ten years later. LGCM has continued to grow, despite opposition and numerous attempts to get the organisation to fold and now has members from all corners of the world and from all the major denominations as well as no denominational affiliation. Membership is open to all people regardless of sexual orientation or faith belief as long as they uphold the organisation's Statement of Conviction.
